Climbing Heals All!

After an especially hard and stressful week I would normally go out and rock climb. Well, living in northern Minnesota makes that really difficult. So instead I decided to watch King Lines and revisit some photos of my favorite place to climb. Ti Point, is so awesome. There is great climbing, and right behind you there is the ocean crashing. The rock wall is literally 10 feet off the ocean. It's such an inspiring place to climb. It's no wonder I had the best climbing day of my life there! I think I need to pack up El Capitan and put it in my backyard! Ha. In my dreams :D

Oxfam Trail Walk

I am so excited about this upcoming years oxfam trail walk. My friend and I have decided to find two other to join us and walk 100 km for poverty. We have to raise 2,500 by August 30 so if you have any ideas for fundraising LET US KNOW! It will be an amazing adventure. The trail starts near Toronto and ends near Georgian Bay. It will be hard and gruelling but I know we are up for the challenge!

LIFE!!!!!

Life has been really crazy lately. First of all I am no longer living in New Zealand. I will be moving to Minneapolis soon to continue studying at the University of Minnesota. I am really excited about this, but definitely have had to do a lot of praying. I feel like God has definitely put me where I belong. I will miss the ocean more than anything, but have faith that this is not the end of my ocean going adventures. I am so excited to be with my family again, and get lots of time with my friends. I will really miss my NZ friends though. You have all been so good to me. I hope you all enjoy my "new" life's pictures. Love you all!! Dani

Halloween. I love my referee costume!

Worst BLogger Ever

So I pretty much miss these crazy peeps heaps!! All I got to say for now.  My camera is broken so I am unable to retrieve any of my fun in the snow pictures.  The south island was amazing though.  Hopefully I will have pictures soon to show just how beautiful they are.

New Digs!

So lots of changes in my life right now.  I have currently moved from Auckland city to the north shore.  It's a really great place to live.  It's such a great place.  My roomates, Jasper and Louise, are real lovely.  They are a couple the same age as me.  What makes this place even more perfect for me is the cat!  As everyone who knows me knows, I love cats.  We have a cat that loves to hang around, but doesn't actually live here.  So I get to hang out with a massive siamese and don't have to feed or clean it! yay!  Well that's all for now.  I will have a big update soon with some hopeful pictures :)

Chillin at the museum

I really enjoy going to museums.  We found out that Auckland had a free museum and just had to go check it out.  It turned out be a really fun afternoon.  Here are just some of the many pictures I took.

A real body from pompeii that has been cast in lava.  This picture gives me the shivers.
One of the better U.S. presidents
In my opinion these are the three most evil men to live.  And to think they all were alive at the same time, and people followed them.

this gecko was so awesome.  He was just taking his merry old time moving around in there.

We are pretending to be scuba divers in the fake coral reef.
area 51 anyone?

Poi which are used by women to train their wrists and increase strength.  In modern times it is used traditionally in dance.
Traditional maori carving.
chillin with the elephant.  I was so angry because a little kid had run up to this elephant, which a real stuffed elephant and pushed on the trunk extremely hard.  I thought it was going to break right off!!

A trip to the aquarium

Keatin and I were trying to be pirahnas.  We thought we were so funny.

This was a shark egg.  They have these spiral like appendages on them that attach to whatever substrate they can find.  The shark in the egg is a mini version of their mom swimming around inside of the little sack.
cool eel.  The eel was just sitting there suspended motionless.  I actually thought it was dead until it snatched up something floating in the water.

Keatin, believe it or not, had never been on a snowmobile until this moment.  Being a native from Minnesota (also known as the home of Arctic Cat) I could not believe this.
We were getting motion sickness in the antarctic snowmobile.
these white walls were spinning around us making us sick.  It was so crazy.
All the beautiful penguins.  They were so entertaining to watch.  They are so clumsy but at the same time graceful.  It's difficult to explain unless you have seen it.
